【ISEA Ningbo Port】First President’s Joint Meeting of 2026 Held, Focusing on Two Core Tasks: Salon Empowerment and Targeted Membership Expansion

On March 24, 2026, the first International Shipping Enterprise Association (ISEA) Ningbo Port Presidents Joint Meeting of 2026 was successfully held at Ningbo International Logistics Development Co., Ltd. The meeting was spearheaded by the leading president member of ISEA Ningbo Port, with overall arrangements made by Guo Xin and Zhou Song. Executive President Zhou Song attended and delivered a speech, while Zhang Guodong, Secretary-General of ISEA Ningbo Port, presided over the meeting. Vice president members, director members, and members of the secretariat gathered to engage in in-depth discussions centered around the associations two core tasks for the year: systematically organizing themed salon activities to foster industry influence and an empowering ecosystem, and precisely expanding membership. The meeting established an operational mechanism of "rotating hosting + thematic deepening" and clarified key milestones for the development of ISEA Ningbo Port and collaboration with other national ports.

I. Salon Activities: Building the Front-End Engine of the "Trust Conversion Funnel"

The meeting explicitly adopted a "rotating hosting by president members" model. Every one to two months, a president/director member would take the lead in organizing an event, providing the venue and setting the theme (such as US line customs clearance, Southeast Asia transshipment, AI, going global, etc.), while inviting two to three member members to share insights on the topic. The current seven existing sharing members can cover the annual frequency, with new members dynamically integrated as they join. Zhou Song, Deputy General Manager of Ningbo International Logistics Development Co., Ltd., stated that as a president member, they would fully support the salon activities, including providing venues and personnel for coordination.

II. The meeting emphasized that salons need to serve three functions:

1. Precise Showcasing of Member Advantages:** Allowing member companies to present their strengths to on-site guests through thematic sharing.

2. Building Pre-Trust Scenarios: Leveraging invitations from familiar contacts to establish a foundation of trust.

3. Creating the "ISEA Golden 60 Seconds" Brand: Incorporating a fixed segment at each event, giving members 60 seconds to introduce themselves.

The meeting established a principle of "not holding events for the sake of holding events." The first event is planned to be a small-scale warm-up salon hosted by Zhe Shang Customs Broker, followed by a monthly schedule to be advanced. The secretariat will coordinate timing and cross-member reminders.

III. Membership Expansion: Dual-Track Approach and Value Anchor Restructuring

1.  The meeting proposed a "dual-track" expansion method:

Internal Potential Development: Each president member reviews its list of available resources, conducts targeted visits to address potential concerns directly.

External Leverage: Leveraging national ISEA resources to organize cross-port exchanges, joint exhibitions (such as the upcoming Shanghai exhibition in April), and disseminate high-value industry information.

2.  The meeting clarified that memberscore demand is for "realizable value," including business leads (customer acquisition), professional solutions (such as practical amendments, financing pathways), and policy updates (such as port clearance dynamics), rather than vague concepts like "learning." Zhe Shang Customs Broker suggested conducting preliminary surveys to tailor content to specific pain points.

The meeting particularly emphasized that expansion can be deeply integrated with salons, where salons serve as conversion scenarios. New members can be naturally attracted through frequent, targeted, and rewarding activities, avoiding isolated recruitment efforts.

IV. National Coordination: Transforming the ISEA National Port Network into a Tangible Service

The meeting noted that the ISEA associations greatest advantage lies in its "national port network." Differentiating it from local associations, the focus should be on strengthening the linkage between Ningbo and other ports.

The meeting required the "localization of national resources": the secretariat should regularly share information with members regarding national exhibitions, policy interpretations from other ports, and cross-regional collaboration cases, enabling members to truly feel that "joining ISEA means plugging into a national network."

The meeting decided to make transforming the "national port network" concept into a tangible service a core objective for the associations brand building in 2026. The Secretary-General was tasked with formulating a quarterly coordination plan.
