Continuing to promote internationalization, the delegation led by the Editor-in-Chief of CSG visited Thailand and exchanged views with enterprises and institutions including RCL

On October 27, Chen Hongbing, Editor-in-Chief of China Shipping Gazette (CSG) and Executive Vice President of China Communications and Transportation Association - Shipping and Logistics Branch (CCTA-SLB), together with Wang Xiuping, Secretary-General of CCTA-SLB, led a delegation to Bangkok, Thailand, and paid visits to Twinchok Tanthuwanit, President of Regional Container Lines (RCL), Anant Tinaphongs, Chairman of the Thai Customs Brokers Association, and other relevant personnel.

At RCL's headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, Editor-in-Chief Chen Hongbing held cordial exchanges with Twinchok Tanthuwanit, the company's President.

Twinchok Tanthuwanit stated that in recent years, RCL has stepped up its layout in China, which constitutes a strategic shift driven by the transformation of China's export model. In particular, Chinese shippers are carrying out the overall overseas expansion of industrial chains to regions such as ASEAN, India, and Africa. Therefore, China's export trade remains strong, which is of great significance to RCL. (For more unique insights, please stay tuned for detailed follow-up reports from China Shipping Gazette.)

Editor-in-Chief Chen Hongbing briefed Twinchok Tanthuwanit on the preparation progress of the 4th International Supply Chain Logistics Exposition (ISL Expo 2026), which will be held in Shanghai from April 22 to 24, 2026. He highlighted the categories of shipper conferences to be held concurrently and the participating shipowner enterprises. He also extended a sincere invitation to Twinchok Tanthuwanit, welcoming RCL to set up a booth and participate in ISL Expo 2026, which received a positive response from Twinchok Tanthuwanit.

According to Alphaliner data as of October 28, RCL ranks 20th globally in terms of shipping capacity, operating 35 vessels with a total capacity of 103,736 TEU, and possessing an order book of 18 vessels with a combined capacity of 116,188 TEU.

(first from left), etc.

On the same day, Editor-in-Chief Chen Hongbing also met with Anant Tinaphongs at the Thai Customs Brokers Association to exchange opinions on the new situation of current international trade and the new trends of supply chain logistics. He introduced the operation status of the International Shipping Enterprise Association (ISEA) and the preparation progress of ISL Expo 2026.

Chen Hongbing pointed out that currently, China's import and export trade is transforming from "Chinese products going global" to "Chinese manufacturing going global", and logistics demand has expanded from single finished product logistics to full-cycle logistics covering the production and manufacturing links. Since the decision-makers of logistics demand are based in China, this provides new "China opportunities" for the global port, shipping and logistics industry. ISL Expo 2026 has become a leading exhibition gathering the largest number of logistics directors from Chinese foreign trade shippers, and is of great value for overseas logistics enterprises to develop Chinese shippers and industry peers.

Anant Tinaphongs stated that the construction of the International Shipping Enterprise Association (ISEA) is highly valuable. With the positioning of "clustering ports, waterway, railways and airway, linking cargo owners", ISL Expo extensively invites Chinese cargo owners to participate, which is perfectly in line with current industry trends and worthy of more overseas logistics enterprises to attend to seek cooperation with Chinese cargo owners.

Both parties also reached consensus on strengthening media cooperation, exchanging association members, and being invited to participate in ISL Expo 2026.

Wang Xiuping, Secretary-General of China Communications and Transportation Association - Shipping and Logistics Branch (CCTA-SLB), Yang Tao, General Manager of China Region at RCL Logistics Co., Ltd., and others participated in the forum.

Since last year, to enhance the international influence of ISEA and ISL Expo, Editor-in-Chief Chen Hongbing has led delegations to countries such as the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Greece, Dubai, and Singapore. He has successively visited institutions and enterprises including the Permanent Mission of China to the WTO, the headquarters of  Mediterranean Shipping Company(MSC), the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), the headquarters of Pacific International Lines (PIL), the International Dry Bulk Shipowners' Association, Lloyd's Register, the Port of Felixstowe, London Gateway Port, and the Port of Piraeus. During the visits, he also conducted exclusive interviews with Soren Toft, CEO of MSC, Teo Siong Seng, Executive Chairman of PIL, and other industry leaders.
In early October this year, Editor-in-Chief Chen Hongbing led a delegation to Vietnam to attend the FIATA World Congress. During the event, he held in-depth dialogues with Dr. STÉPHANE GRABER, Director-General of FIATA, and Cai Fengming, Chairman of Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation. He also promoted ISL Expo 2026 to the heads and representatives of logistics associations from countries such as Malaysia, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Cambodia, Iran, Thailand, Dubai, Morocco, Myanmar, and Ghana.

Wang Xiuping, Secretary-General of China Communications and Transportation Association - Shipping and Logistics Branch (CCTA-SLB), participated in the aforementioned forums and exchange activities.
